The first line in a continuing roll of isolated madness. Hope it provides something, whatever that may be, for all. Most of all I hope all this creates revolutionary spaces in the mind, spaces to dream, or just a soundtrack to kick cans down empty streets.

Adam Cadell - violin, theremin, weird noises from the Nuts Daddy distortion pedal designed and built by Ryan Potter that has a mind of its own, amp mangling

"Ballades I" is based on the ye olde British traditional Barbara Allen, a tune which of course landed on these dusty shores with the convicts sometime back probably.

"Barcaldine" based on an Australian standard (not a traditional) The Ballad of 1891 (Palmer & Jacobs) originally composed for the commie play Reedy River back in the 50s. Good little Tory-smasher of a tune that one.

"The Cold Tyranny of Distance" and "Signals from the Lost" are mangled, speaker, noise box and fiddle derangements of string quartet recordings of the 1st and 2nd movements of my String Quartet No 1 made at the Old Museum, Brisbane, several years back.
