about

An unfortunate name in these times this is true, however all of this work was recorded back in 2008, just pre-dating the formation of The Scrapes. For those of you who know your Scrapes you'll recognise some of the tunes. This set of bedroom recordings, done both at my ancestral home, and at the ratty sharehouse I once shared with 3 people and a vicious cat named Mandu, was burned to CDR with the rough artwork attached here and given to Ryan Potter as a display of the sort of ideas I had going at the time. Fortunately for me, he dug them, and the rest is history.
Think of this not as a great album, or a finalised kind of work, but rather the seed of what has become my body of work, almost where it all began.
At the time it was only shared with my girlfriend, Ryan and a few friends. I had some of it on my Myspace back in the day too, and one piece, The View from Here or Walkin' Nowhere Fast maybe?, ended up as part of a "sound walk" during a festival in Brisbane back in 2011 if I recall. So it's not a total secret.
I'm a wee bit embarrassed to share it considering how far I think my thing has come since this, but it's an important step in the develpoment of my compositional voice so here you go. All the best to all. Adam.

ps. some of these compositions actually have their origins in things I composed back when I was in high school in the 90s so it's ancient primordial ooze this is.
